INAPPROPRIATE USE OF DRUG IN NURSING HOMES
By Arezou Azarani | October 18, 2017 at 05:54 PM EDT | No Comments

CNN investigation indicates that Nuedexta, a medical drug approved by the FDA to treat a very rare disorder marked by sudden and uncontrollable laughing or crying -- known as pseudobulbar affect, or PBA (affecting less than 1% of all Americans), is aggressively prescribed to the elderly suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's disease in nursing homes for whom the drug may be unnecessary or even unsafe.
